One of the stelae called Dancers (Danzates) because of the unorthodox positions of the characters represented. Located at Monte Alban in Oaxaca, Mexico. Zapotec culture. From the Temple of the Danzantes. Relief sculpture. Over 300 such stelae at the archaeological site. Figure is shown frontally with head in profile. Likely shows war victim.
