Dexter King meets James Earl Ray
James Earl Ray, convicted for the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, talks to Dexter King, son of Dr. King, at the state prison hospital in Nashville Tennessee. As reported in Newsweek, this "staged" for CNN media event took place in 1997, while an adviser to the King family insisted that nothing was orchestrated and that the meeting was very spiritual for the family. The handshake, also photographed by Earl Warren, Jr. ran AP with the article in Newsweek April 7, 1997.
